MSc Programmes - 2018 intake

IBMBB will commence academic activities for its 2018 intake of students for MSc Courses in February 2018. MSc programmes at IBMBB include extensive laboratory training, and its graduates are in high demand with some even receiving job offers before completion of the degree programme. Some of the successful MSc students are able to obtain PhD studentships at the IBMBB. All MSc courses are full time and fee levying.

The Programmes
MSc in Molecular Life Sciences
 
A three semester programme with each semester running for 20 weeks. This course will provide advance training and a strong foundation in branches of Molecular Life Sciences. First two semesters are by course work with extensive laboratory training. Third semester is a research project organized to give training in research methodology.
 
MSc in Cellular and Molecular Immunology
 
A three semester programme with each semester running for 20 weeks. This course will provide advance training and a strong foundation in branches of Cellular and Molecular Immunology. First two semesters are by course work with extensive laboratory training. Third semester is a research project organized to give training in research methodology.

We are looking for graduates in Biological / Medical (Western) / Dental/ Veterinary/ Agricultural Sciences.
 
Application and Selection Procedure
Application forms and course contents can be downloaded from the website www.ibmbb.lk or obtained from the Senior Assistant Registrar/ IBMBB on any working day from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. or by sending a self addressed, stamped envelope of size 10.7” x 7”. A personal statement of not more than 1000 words should also be submitted with the application. At the time of submission of the application form a payment of Rs. 1500/= should be made either by cash or by cheque drawn in favour of “Institute of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology”.

Candidates for the above MSc courses will be required to sit for an admission examination and appear for an interview. Minimum number of students per each course will be eight.

      • MSc in Cellular and Molecular Immunology - Rs. 600,000/= (non refundable)
    • Applicants from SAARC or least developed countries - US $ 6000 (non refundable)
    • Applicants from other countries - US $ 8000 (non refundable)
    to be paid before registration and a refundable laboratory deposit -
