Congratulations – IBMBB Researcher Wins Two Awards at UCIC 2026
The Institute of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (IBMBB), University of Colombo, proudly congratulates Ms. Hasanthi Fernando on winning both the Best Presenter Award and the Audience Award at the Research Communication Challenge+ Competition held during the University of Colombo International Conference 2026 (UCIC 2026) on 29 October 2026. Her research was titled “Investigation of In Vitro Immunomodulatory Effects of Native and Endemic Sargassum/Brown Algae Species in Sri Lanka.”
IBMBB also recognizes the valuable research contributions of Ms.Nethmi Gamage, for her presentation titled “Synergistic Inhibition of Metastatic Properties of Glioblastoma Cells Using Combined Andrographis paniculata and Datura metel Fractions” during Session 2, and Ms. Aaloka Rathnayake, for
her presentation titled “Autologous Keratinocyte Cell-Spray Therapy for Advanced Burn Wounds: A Case Study Comparing Keratinocyte Isolation Protocols” during Session 1, under the track “Advancing Human Health through AI, Innovation, Equity, and Sustainable Global Wellbeing.”
