Currently pursuing my MPhil, focusing on the bioactive properties of selected Sri Lankan medicinal plants, specifically their immunomodulatory, antioxidant, and antibacterial activities. The primary objective of this research is to develop immune-boosting products and health supplements incorporating these medicinal plants, with scientific validation supporting their efficacy. The project not only seeks to validate the traditional use of these plants through scientific methods but also to contribute to the development of sustainable, locally sourced health solutions. A significant component of the project is to commercialization, which involves technology transfer initiatives designed to enable the production and marketing of these immune-boosting products within Sri Lanka in health and wellness sector. The project is funded by a Treasury grant awarded to the Industrial Technology Institute (ITI), which plays a vital role in facilitating the development and commercialization of these products for the Sri Lankan market.
