Eligibility
A candidate with Bachelor’s Degree in medical sciences, biological sciences, biotechnology and any related field with relevant number of credits (as per the SLQF) of a recognized University in Sri Lanka or overseas provided that the Overseas University is recognized by the University Grants Commission.
A candidate with any other academic or professional qualification which is deemed equivalent by the Senate of the University of Colombo.

Lectures and practical classes will be conducted onsite during 8.00 am to 5.00 pm on weekdays
- All courses in 1st and 2nd semesters are compulsory to proceed with the Degree of Master of Medical Biotechnology unless they wish to leave the programme with a Postgraduate Diploma.
- MBT 5110 is non-compulsory for Postgraduate Diploma.
Credit estimation in the course: One credit is equivalent to 50 notional learning hours.
The evaluation criteria for each of the course in the study programme shall be determined by the Board of Study in Medical Biotechnology and by the Academic Committee of the Institute before commencement of the semester. A mark out of 100 shall be allocated to each course.
